Sea Arch, Wiebe Island, Broken Group

After the end of the last ice age, sea levels rapidly rose, to reach their maximum height about 6-7 thousand years ago.  Ever since, due to tectonic uplift, and a general subsidence of sea levels, caves, arches, tunnels, and other features have been left exposed by lowering water.

The Broken Group Islands, a diverse archipelago of Islands on the west coast of Vancouver Island is host to an impressive display and variety of caves and cliffs.
