Recent trips to the Nuchatlitz areas in 2006 provided proof of
illegal hunting of endangered species. During several trips, I
discovered the remains of at least nine separate Sea Otters, several, like the
three pictured here, with evidence of poaching (Note incision lines on lower
flippers in bottom right, where pelts were removed). While I made reports
with DFO, there is little they can do in this remote area.
