In the winter, it is customary to wake in the morning, look at
the surrounding mountains of Clayoquot Sound, and see the snow reaching almost
to the sea. Throughout the day the snow line slowly raises, to leave but
the caps of the mountains covered in constant snow.
While quite temperate, Vancouver Islands mountain ranges
receive substantial amounts of snow.
