A juvenile Orca caught in the act of showing its dependance to
the air above.
While on a day paddle, my group realized a pod of whales was
moving down the shoreline. We moved offshore to give them room, and rafted
together. But, as often is the case, this young whale came to investigate,
passing but a few meters from our group.
