This huge Vancouver Island Black Bear inhabited Benson Pt. on
Nootka Island, the largest island off the west coast of Vancouver Island.
It was more interested in the huckleberries
than anything human.
Nootka Island is being heavily harvested by
industrial logging, leaving much of its old growth temperate rainforest
vulnerable.
